Manchester United Transfer News: Tottenham Manager Andre Villas-Boas Warns David Moyes off Gareth Bale

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas remains confident of keeping Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane next season, with the Portuguese suggesting even Manchester United and David Moyes would find it near impossible to make a successful bid for the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window.

Bale is the hottest property in Europe at the moment, with the Welshman showing tremendous form for Spurs in the English Premier League.

Manchester United famously missed out on the former Southampton youngster, and with Moyes now taking charge at Old Trafford, there have been quite a few names linked with moves to the club.

However, Villas-Boas completely ruled out any chances of Bale making a switch to United in the summer.

"I'm pretty sure that whatever David does in the market will be excellent," Villas-Boas told reporters. "But to get a player of Gareth's dimension is firstly not in our interests but also very, very difficult to get."

Bale has won three individual awards this season, after being named the PFA Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year, while the Welshman collected the Football Writers' Association Player of the Year Thursday.

During the ceremony, Bale expressed his happiness at Tottenham, while also reserving special praise for Villas-Boas, who remains confident of keeping the forward beyond this season.

"I have those guarantees (that Bale will stay)," Villas-Boas said. "You can always make your own understanding from what the player says and how he feels.

"He is very, very driven to be successful but you can see that he is enjoying his football and all of the indications that I have are that he will continue."

Spurs have been rumored to be ready to give Bale a more lucrative contract, despite the Welsh international already having three years remaining on his contract. And Villas-Boas admitted a new deal would definitely help in rejecting the advances of the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

"It would be good for him (to sign a new deal)," Villas-Boas added. "I think he deserves it for the season he's had.

"Obviously we could put to bed every single speculation that's coming out, which we are calm about.

"It would be excellent and I think a reward for what he has achieved this season."
