Tim Tebow Rumors: New York Jets Rookie Camp Has Zach Rogers Take Old No. 15 As Tennessee Receiver Works With Possible Starting Quarterback Geno Smith

Tim Tebow is a free agent and away from the New York Jets after a long and dramatic season and as the team held rookie camp the final piece of the deal was put to rest, as rookie Zach Rogers took number 15 for the camp, the former number of the quarterback.

According to ESPN New York, Rogers took number 15 for the rookie camp when he reported to the Jets and the former Tennessee receiver has previously met Tebow and once actually worked out with him. He realized the number connection right away and also mentioned to reporters that he once caught passes from Tebow while he was training in Nashville. He called the quarterback a great guy and that he hopes for the best for the future for him.

Rogers came into camp as an undrafted free agent and head coach Rex Ryan said he liked what he brought to the table in the slot and that he could possibly catch on as a receiver, literally. He caught balls over the middle and showed a good range with quarterback Geno Smith. At Tennessee he played with Cordarrelle Patterson, who was a first-round pick to the Vikings, and Justin Hunter, who went in the second round to the Titans, making 32 catches for nearly 500 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Jets were also impressed with Geno Smith and depending on how he does over the summer rumors say that Mark Sanchez could be on his way out of town. He looked like a leader on the day and Ryan said that he has been studying the playbook hard and has shown great skills when it comes to screen passes and other throws and he completed nearly all his passes in workouts.

"I like flying under the radar," Rogers said. "That's been my motto since coming out of high school. I'll stick with that."
