New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers Predictions Game 4: NY Disorganized Offense Loses in Indiana

The New York Knicks have their backs against the wall entering Game 4 and the Indiana Pacers streaking at home. Here are predictions for this matchup as it seems the Pacers will have a 3-1 lead at the conclusion of the game.

First of all, the Pacers are undefeated at home posting a 4-0 record in the 2013 NBA Playoffs. The only team with a better record at home in the postseason are the Memphis Grizzlies (5-0) through the first two rounds of the postseason. The Indiana crowd is loud and though guys like Jeff van Gundy don't believe home crowd noise should be a factor, when a guy like Tyler Hansbrough hustles after a ball or forces a turnover, the crowd comes to life and seems to give this scrappy Pacers team even more motivation.

Another huge factor favoring the Pacers in Game 4 is the Knicks lack of offensive play calling. They seem to improvise and just let things happen. It's like they're playing pickup basketball in neighborhood courts. The Pacers, however, are too strong on defense to simply let the Knicks blow by them. Tyson Chandler's pick and roll dunks have been non-existent. Had Carmelo Anthony been hitting more of his shots, then maybe the Pacers defense would have something to panic about. The Knicks are trying to hit perimeter shots and they are not falling.

The Pacers continue to outduel the Knicks in the paint. Roy Hibbert seems too big of a challenge for Chandler on the defensive end and when Chandler is gone, there's not much Kenyon Martin can do to slow down the Pacers' big. All game long, Hibbert has been able to sink his short hook over Knicks defenders.

The Knicks have to try hitting more threes since that is naturally a part of their game. They have to get the Pacers out of the key, which will then open up lanes for Raymond Felton, who is the Knicks best option other than Anthony to finish at the basket. This is the way the Knicks will win this game. However, the odds are against them in Game 4.

Game time is at 7 p.m. ET. If the Pacers win, the go into MSG with a 3-1 lead in the best of seven series.
