Los Angeles Dodgers Rumors: Zack Greinke Returns To Start Against Washington Nationals After Brawl Injury After Clayton Kershaw Shuts Out Team, Return Has LA Back On Track?

The Los Angeles Dodgers have spent most of the season without star free agent signee Zack Greinke in the lineup after he was injured in a brawl that was started by idiotic San Diego Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin, but a rehab stint he is ready to return.

According to ESPN.com, Greinke is set to start on Wednesday night after missing over a month coming back from a collar bone injury sustained in the brawl with the Padres. Quentin charged the mound after he was hit by Greinke in a close game and in the brawl he injured his collar bone, but luckily he is back nearly three weeks ahead of schedule. The Dodgers were planning on giving him another rehab start before coming back, but instead he will start on Wednesday.

Greinke, the former Cy Young winner, was solid in two starts while going 1-0 with a sub-2.00 ERA, but the boneheaded play by Quentin ruined all of that. The Dodgers have been dealing with tons of injuries to the starting rotation and pitchers in general and they have made 13 DL moved during that time and have used nine pitchers. Josh Beckett so far has been awful going 0-5 with a 5.19 ERA and the team placed him on the DL on Monday and now Greinke will get the chance to return and help out.

The Dodgers are coming off of a 2-0 win with Clayton Kershaw throwing nearly the entire game apart from the final out and the tea, is just 16-22 so far and last in the NL West while ranking 28th in the league in runs and 11th in batting average.

"I would think if everyone in baseball had the same feeling I do, everyone would be playing," Greinke said. "Maybe not if you're a shortstop or a catcher, but every pitcher, I would think, would be playing. So, it's nothing superhero-ish or anything. If you felt what I feel, then you'd be doing the same thing."
