Chelsea's outgoing manager Rafa Benitez expects the club to spend as much as £100 million ($152 million) in the summer transfer window as the Blues prepare for life with Jose Mourinho come next season.
Mourinho is widely expected to take over at Stamford Bridge once he comes to a severance agreement with current club Real Madrid.
Benitez, who has done a pretty good job at Chelsea since taking over from Roberto Di Matteo, has no doubts about the fact that the English Premier League side will strengthen over the summer, with several players expected to come in and make an already formidable squad even better.
"Chelsea will be much better next season because they will spend £100 million ($152 million) and they will sign three or four players," Benitez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
"They have good young players like (Victor) Moses, (Eden) Hazard, Oscar, (Cesar) Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Fernando Torres, Oriol (Romeu), they are all improving and they all have potential," he said.
"The foundation is already there. The future is bright for them."
Benitez might have had a good time at Chelsea on the pitch, culminating with the Blues winning the Europa League title, but his spell with the club has been marred by protests from the fans, who have made their feelings clear about the Spaniard.
Chelsea right-back Paulo Ferreira, however, believes the former Liverpool manager was harshly treated by the Chelsea faithful.
"A lot of supporters have not been fair with him, and sometimes I think they should think more about the team than the manager," he said.
"He has given his best even though he knows he is going to leave at the end of the season."
Ferreira, who had his best spell with Chelsea during Mourinho's reign between 2004-07, has no doubts about the fact that his compatriot will be a huge hit at the club during his second spell as well.
"It's not just me, I think everyone (wants to see him come back)," Ferreira added. "This means titles and that is what the club wants. Nothing is better than him."
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech concurred with his teammate. "There is a big probability that it can be Jose," he said. "He has a fantastic history with the club, the supporters love him, and he would be good for the players, obviously."
