Jason Collins's twin brother sported a funny shirt to show that he is not his brother, saying that he's the straight one.
Jason Collins became one of the most important names in sports on Monday, as he revealed in a Sports Illustrated cover story that he is gay, making him the first active and openly gay professional athlete in team sports in the major American leagues, including the NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL.
Collins went to Stanford and has played for six teams during his NBA career and he has been to the playoffs nine times, going to two finals. Last season he played for the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards and his announcement was met by widespread positivity and encouragement, apart from a few ignorant players like Mike Wallace and Alphonso Smith in the NFL, who made remarks about it on Twitter.
Collins's raised profile also brought out some interesting trivia, including that he was sort of a video game cover star back in the day. According to Kotaku, Collins appeared in the background of the cover of the video game NBA2K6 for PS2, which featured then-Miami Heat star Shaquille O'Neal on the cover. The two played against each other during his NBA career and the report says that Stephen Vu of Incorrect Basketball Knowledge noticed the picture and posted it on Twitter.
