The New York Jets have been a mess for quite a while and one of their newest players is contributing once again to that, as Mike Goodson was arrested on gun and drug charges.
According to Pro Football Talk, the running back was taken into custody by police for drug possession and weapons charges after being stopped in his SUV. According to the report, when he was pulled over he was taken to a nearby hospital after officers found a loaded gun and weed and now he may be relegated to backup status. The team signed him to a $7 million deal this offseason and they also traded for Chris Ivory, but this could be a bad issue for Goodson as the Jets try to change their image.
The police found hollow point bullets and a 45-caliber handgun and after being arrested he was released to State police custody after being taken to the hospital for an evaluation. He was stopped in Denville and now the Jets have another distraction to deal with as they try to decide between Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith.
