Dennis Rodman Broke, Unable to Pay Child Support Payments

Dennis Rodman can't afford to pay more than $800,000 in unpaid child support payments because he's broke, according to new court documents filed by Rodman's legal team.

TMZ said Rodman's ex-wife Michelle Rodman recently filed papers in court allegeding Rodman owes $808,935 in child support for his two children, but Rodman's attorney claims the basketball Hall of Famer is completely broke and can't pay off the bills.

"Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees," Rodman's attorney wrote.

Rodman is supposed to pay his wife $50,000 a month for child support based on a 2010 ruling, but "The Worm" claims that the amount is unfair because it doesn't factor in his actual income. Rodman played 14 seasons in the NBA, but has a well-documented drinking problem that has hurt his finances.

Rodman, 50, faces up to 20 days in jail for failure to pay spousal and child support.

The former rebounding menace isn't the only former professional athlete to deal with financial and child support issues. Allen Iverson, Antoine Walker, Chris McAlister are just a few recent athletes to suffer from financial ruin due to poor investments, among other issues.
