The Carolina Panthers are one of the youngest teams in the NFL and with quarterback Cam Newton in the fold they have the potential to be one of the most exciting teams in the league and another reason is due to first round draft pick star Lotulelei, who is now signed with the team.
According to ESPN.com, Lotulelei's agent said that he has signed a four year contract with the team after being the number 14 pick in the draft and the team is excited to have him. Lotulelei was considered one of the best defensive players in the draft, but he dropped due to some medical issues and a heart problem, but he was later cleared. Lotulelei starred at Utah and had six and a half sacks to go along with 86 tackles and Ron Rivera is hoping for him to help make the defense more dominant up front.
The Panthers went 7-9 last season and while that isn't a great record, the team was off to a horrendous start, as was Newton and now they have some hope heading into 2013. Newton has nearly 4,000 yards passing and the team ranked 16th in passing and ninth in rushing yards per game.
