The San Francisco 49ers have signed former New York Giants runningback Brandon Jacobs to a contract on Wednesday, according to ESPN. The New Jersey Star Ledger reports that Jacobs and the Giants couldn't come to an agreement on a reduction of Jacobs' 2012 salary.
Jacobs becomes the second player formerly of the Super Bowlwinning Giants to sign with the 49ers, the same 49ers the Giants ousted in the NFC Championship game. Wide receiver Mario Manningham signed a two-year deal with the team last week, joining a corps that includes newly signed Randy Moss, Michael Crabtree and Ted Ginn, Jr.
