MLB Standings: Cardinals have Best Record in Baseball, Tigers, Red Sox, Rangers, Braves and D'Backs Control Divisions

The MLB Standings have seen consistency from some teams throughout the course of the 2013 season. However, this could only be said for a few divisions like the A.L. West and N.L. East. As a new week of baseball takes off, here are the teams atop of their divisions as the second month of baseball is set to wrap up in a couple of days.

A.L. East: Boston Red Sox (32-20)
With a combination of great pitching performances and a struggling New York Yankee team at the end of May, the Red Sox were able to once again take first place in their division. Boston has won 7 of 10 games and are currently on a four-game winning streak. The Yankees, on the other hand, are 5-5 and have lost back-to-back games.

A.L. Central: Detroit Tigers (29-20)
Call it the seesaw division as the Tigers and Cleveland Indians continue to switch places. Currently, the Tigers have a 2.5 games lead in the Central. A four-game losing streak will drop any team from the top and last week the Indians were cruising as their mighty offense briefly woke up in May. Now the Tigers, who are 7-3 in their last 10 games are the ones trying to put a streak together to close out the month in decent fashion.

A.L. West: Texas Rangers (32-20)
The Rangers have been one of the better teams in baseball all year long. It seems like the Oakland A's are their only challenge in the West. However, the Rangers are struggling having gone 5-5 in their last 10 and losers of three straight games. The A's have resurfaced from playing baseball below .500 and are currently just three games back in first place. They have won 9 of 10.

N.L. East: Atlanta Braves (30-20)
Just went the Braves looked like they were going to slip and were just a couple of games above .500, they went on an eight-game winning streak as the Washington Nationals are just a game over .500 and in second place in the division. The Braves have been the more consistent team in the division and boy do they love playing at home. The Braves possess the best home record as they are 15-5 in Turner Field.

N.L. Central: St. Louis Cardinals (33-17)
The best record in baseball belongs to the 2011 World Series Champions. The Cardinals have a sick pitching rotation and their offense is beyond decent. Having won 7 of 10 and playing great baseball on the road and away from home, St. Louis has been able to stay on top of the toughest division in baseball. The Cincinnati Red and Pittsburgh Pirates are 13 and 11 games over .500 respectively. No other division has better records in baseball.

N.L. West: Arizona Diamondbacks (30-22)
The 2012 World Series Champions are still in second place as the D'backs refuse to let go of the top spot. They haven't played increasingly great baseball, but they are doing a better job than everybody else int he division. The San Francisco Giants are 1.5 games back and 4-6 in their last 10. With a red hot Martin Prado and Paul Goldschmidt still killing the baseball, the Diamondbacks have won three straight.
