The Los Angeles Kings are into the Western conference finals for the second straight season after winning the Cup last year and after another great game from goalie Jonathan Quick, the team must now wait and see who they will play.
The Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks are in Game 7 and will play on Wednesday night to see who advances and if it were up to the Kings they would be rooting for the Red Wings. The Kings would get home ice if Detroit wins, but the Blackhawks would take it if they win since they are the number one seed. The team was helped by two goals from Justin Williams and now the Kings are in position to repeat as champions after a hard fought series with the Sharks.
The Kings will rely on Jeff Carter and Mike Richards going forward and now the Sharks have to figure out what their next move will be after missing out on their third conference finals in the past four years. Quick has been essential to the Kings during the playoffs and his 25 saves were huge in Game 7 as LA won a Game 7 at home for the first time since the 80s. The team has won eight straight games at home since last season and they are hoping for home ice once again.
