NFL Rumors: Mike Wallace Praises Miami Dolphins College Mentality, Clarifies Pittsburgh Steelers Criticism as 'Nothing But Respect'

Mike Wallace signed one of the bigger offseason free agent contracts this year. After spending four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the wide receiver headed down south and signed a five-year, $60 million deal with the Miami Dolphins. As OTAs begin, Wallace starts a new chapter with a new team. He is feeling comfortable and realizing the differences between his former team and his new one.

Wallace has had nothing but praise for the Dolphins since arriving in South Beach. The receiver is excited to work with young quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. The down-field threat has praised the quarterback for his strong arm and is happy with the overall mentality the team is carrying into 2013.

"Everybody has a college mentality around here. It's a lot different than where I came from. Everybody's hungry. Everybody wants to get better, get to where we need to be-that's a winning record," Wallace said.

While he might not have meant to, the comment was taken as a subtle dig towards the Pittsburgh Steelers. Former teammate Maurkice Pouncey laughed at the idea that the Dolphins were more hungry for success than the Steelers saying, "After going 8-8, if anybody isn't hungry, they don't need to be on the Pittsburgh Steelers."

This is not the first time that Wallace has made a slight dig at the Steelers. He recently compared new quarterback Tannehill to his old quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Wallace complimented Tannehill's arm strength, saying he can throw the ball father than Roethlisberger. He and Tannehill have been working overtime in order to build the necessary chemistry that will help Miami put together wins. Wallace notes the dup throw two or three times after practice every day in order to get on the same page.

Wallace had to back up his comments about the Steelers after many viewed them as disrespectful. Wallace took to Twitter to praise the Steelers.

"I want it to be known that I have nothing but love and respect for everybody in the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. That is a A1 organization over there...those guys are my brothers for life beyond football so to all the people who think I take shows at them it is totally misleading...people keep making it out like I wanna bask them...I am forever grateful for everything they have ever done for me," Wallace wrote.

The Steelers and the Dolphins will face off in December. Pouncey's brother is Dolphins' center Mike Pouncey. Miami will head to Pittsburgh and after these recent comments, it should make for a nice rivalry game.
