MLB.TV brings the Free Game of the Day with the Boston Red Sox vs. Philadelphia Phillies facing off at 7 p.m. ET. Watch the game online as these storied franchises face off for some interleague action.
The Red Sox are on top of the A.L. East as the New York Yankees continue to struggle. The Red Sox aren't playing their best ball, but they are doing enough to get by as their 32-20 record gives them a one-game lead in the division.
Injuries are something the Red Sox are familiar in their recent history and 2013 has removed one of their best starters in Clay Buchholtz from their starting rotation. As a result, they will call upon Franklin Morales to make a spot start. Morales has yet to pitch in the majors in 2013. However, he has solid minor league numbers going 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA in five starts this season. Though he is not quite Buccholtz's caliber, the Red Sox will need him to make a great start today.
The Red Sox's offense might get shutdown by the young Phillies' right-hander, Jonathan Pettibone, who is 3-0 in 2013. He has a 3.21 ERA and has yet to allow more than three earned runs in the season. He has made seven starts this season and pitched very well giving the Phillies a chance to win whenever he's on the mound.
First pitch is a little after 7:05, click here for the live streaming action.
