French Open 2013 Schedule Quarterfinals: Federer vs. Tsonga, Serena Williams and David Ferrer In Action Tuesday

The 2013 French Open has a lot of action, especially since their main man, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will be in action later today. Here are the matches left to be played in today's quarterfinals singles schedule at Roland Garros.

The highly anticipated matchup of the day features Tsonga vs. No. 2 Roger Federer. Tsonga will have the crowd behind him as the French has yet to drop a set in the tournament. He defeated Aljaz Bedene in the first round, struggled early with Jarkko Nieminen, but put that match away. He then breezed by fellow Frenchman Jeremy Chardy and disposed of Victor Troicki in the fourth round to enter the quarterfinals.

Federer's ride wasn't as smooth. However, Federer has had his moments of extreme dominance. He won every set up until the fourth round when he confronted a motivated Gilles Simon. In fact, Simon was just one set away from winning the match on two separate occasions. Federer wound up winning the match 6-1, 4-6, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Don't be fooled by Federer's struggles, though he's aging, Federer can turn it up whenever and as seen in the Simon match, he can still finish strong.

Also in action, No. 4 David Ferrer will faceoff against his Spaniard counterpart, Tommy Robredo who comes into this tournament ranked No. 32. Ferrer is another one who has yet to drop a set. This will be his third Spanish opponent of the tournament as Ferrer beat Albert Montanes and Feliciano Lopez in the second and third rounds respectively. With no Andy Murray in the tournament, Ferrer's path to the semis has been wide open throughout the tournament.

Serena Williams is fresh off a victory against Svetlana Kuznetsova. With the win, Williams guarantees her spot in the Women's Singles semifinals. Williams put away the Russian in three sets 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Williams will now face Sara Errani from Italy. Errani disposed of Agnieszka Radwanska in consecutive sets early Tuesday morning.

Ferrer vs. Robredo will immediately follow Williams' match. While Tsonga vs. Federer follows Errani vs. Radwanska's matchup.
