Arsenal Transfer News: Laurent Koscielny Gives Exit Warning as Arsenal Player Reveals Frustration over Lack of Ambition and Trophies

Laurent Koscielny has been one of the standout defenders for Arsenal this season, and it always seemed like there would never be any doubt over the French international continuing his career at the Emirates next season.

However, such is the frustration felt by, not just the fans, but the players as well after repeatedly missing out on trophies, that even one of the most soft-spoken and respectful players in the Arsenal lineup has given the club a warning about their lack of ambition.

Koscielny has reportedly caught the attention of Bayern Munich, with Pep Guardiola and co. lining up a £15 million ($22.5 million) bid for the 27-year-old.

With the way Bayern are going at the moment, if would be difficult for anyone to grudge any player a move to the Bundesliga and Champions League winners, and while Koscielny insisted he is quite happy at Arsenal, there was an ominous warning to go along with it.

"I feel good at Arsenal, if we have ambition to fight against the other teams of course I want to stay here," Koscielny told Eurosport.

"It's hard psychologically. We are constantly pressured because if Arsenal is not in the Champions League it would be a catastrophe.

"It is hard to not win titles year after year. We are competitors, professionals, we want to win.

"I want to add to my list of achievements. If Arsenal cannot allow me that, I'll seek a move elsewhere."

On one hand it is understandable where the player is coming from, with Arsene Wenger and the board constantly promising, but never really delivering trophies for the club, while alluding to the fact that finishing in the top four of the English Premier League and booking that Champions League spot might be the most important goal.

On the other hand, however, it does become frustrating for the Arsenal fans to listen to players picked from obscurity by Wenger and turned into internationals, constantly talking about wanting to leave the club to further their ambitions.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to trophies, and as Chelsea showed in the last couple of seasons - disappointment in the league can be made up by success in the cup competitions.

Widespread reports suggest Wenger has plenty of money at his disposal this summer and Arsenal have been linked with moves for some high-profile targets.

Bringing in quality of course does not guarantee you trophies, but it certainly narrows the odds, and that, more than anything, is what every single Arsenal fan has been crying out for.
