The NFL offseason is in full swing with Organized Team Activities and mandatory minicamps coming up and here is a look at some of the top news of the day around the league, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers add some new players to the roster, the Chicago Bears workout some quarterbacks, including JaMarcus Russell and the Cardinals signing some draft picks.
--The Arizona Cardinals had a very offensive-minded draft after hiring new head coach Bruce Arians and now the team has just one draft pick left unsigned in Jonathan Cooper after signing four players on Tuesday. The team signed linebacker Alex Okafor and guard Earl Watford to contracts after drafting the players out of the fourth round in the draft and now Cooper, who was the first round selection, is the only player left to sign.
The Cardinals are ready to improve after trading for Carson Palmer in the offseason and the team feels it has talent in both Okafor and Watford. The team drafted Okafor out of Texas and he is expected to contribute right away on defense after notching 22 sacks while in college. Cooper will likely be starting on the offensive line after being drafted in the first round and the team has high hopes for both him and running backs Stepfan Taylor and Andre Ellington.
--The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into training camp with a number of question at various positions and after trading for Darrelle Revis, the team is hoping he is ready for the season opener against (of course) his old team the New York Jets on the road at MetLife Stadium. Revis is recovering from a serious knee injury and while there is a chance that he may miss the game, the cornerback is targeting Week 1 as his return date from the injury. There is a chance that he could be back in time for training camp, but as long as Revis can physically play, he will be on the field against his old team. The Bucs also brought in wide receiver Carlton Mitchell and kicker Derek Dimke on Tuesday and now have a number of wideouts on the team in Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, Kevin Ogletree and Tiquan Underwood.
--Yeah, Tim Tebow is still nowhere.
