The Atlanta Braves are hitting the road for a little West Coast road trip and the first stop will be with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Braves are playing well in their recent stretch, leading the NL East, which could forecast trouble for the Dodgers who have failed to string together a quality win streak.
Atlanta has won their last five games, including a shut out of the Pirates on Wednesday. Julio Teheran came within four outs of recording his first no-hitter. The Braves have now won 15 of their last 19 games. In that span of games, the Braves have homered 29 times. The last time the Braves met up with the Dodgers, Atlanta complete a three-game sweep, winning the last six of eight against Los Angeles.
The Dodgers will send right hander Zach Greinke to the mound. He is looking to avoid his fourth consecutive rough outing and will need a little help from his teammates to do so. In his last two starts against the Braves, Greinke posted a 5.73 ERA, going 0-1. In his last start on Saturday, Greinke struggled. In his last three starts, he has recorded an 8.78 ERA, allowing 28 hits in the process.
The Braves will give veteran Tim Hudson the start. Hudson has seen his fair share of struggles. In his past five starts, he is 0-3 with a 6.33 ERA. He was able to rebound against Washington over the weekend, allowing just one earned run on three hits. The Braves are hoping Hudson can carry that momentum into Thursday night. In seven starts against the Dodgers, Hudson is 1-2 with a 5.03 ERA.
