For Tsonga and Ferrer it has been a good tournament. Tsonga defeated Roger Federer in the quarterfinals as the crowd rallied behind him. The Frenchman is trying to win the French Open becoming the first French tennis player to win at Roland Garros since 1983.
As long as we're keeping track of nations, Ferrer has put away three Spaniards in the first five rounds at the 2013 French Open. He has barely struggled through his first couple of rounds fellow country man , Albert Montanez, was his first victim as he crushed him in straight sets in the second round. In the third round, Ferrer struggled a bit with Feliciano Lopez winning in three sets and then finally Tommy Robredo was the most recent Spaniard he defeated.
Both of these players have been on fire and playing dominant tennis. They have won all the sets played through their first 15 matches of the tournament. Somebody, however, will drop three sets in this one and find themselves eliminated from the action as the French Open needs just one more player to advance to the finals.
Rafael Nadal put away Novak Djokovic in five sets and will defend his 2012 title.
