NFL Free Agent Signings: Colts Sign RB Ahmad Bradshaw

Latest news involving the NFL free agency is the Indianapolis Colts finally getting their man.

The Indianapolis Star is reporting that the team has agreed to a one-year contract deal with former New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw, according to general manager Ryan Grigson. As of now no further information is available on the immediate terms of the deal.

The Colts have been in talks with Bradshaw, 27, since shortly after visiting with the team last Thursday.

Bradshaw comes in handy as the team was looking to improve a running game that revolves around Vick Ballard, Donald Brown and Delonte Carter.

Overall the Colts' ranked No.22 in the league last season in rushing yards per game at 104.4 and No.26 in yards per attempt at 3.8.

In his first seven seasons as a member of the Giants, Bradshaw played in 84 of 96 games, starting 33, and rushed for 4,232 yards and 32 touchdowns. Last season he ran for 1,015 yards on 221 carries, with a 4.6 yard average and six touchdowns.

After missing four games with injuries in 2012, the Giants parted ways with Bradshaw in February. He is best known for scoring the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl two years ago when the Patriots allowed him to score to save time.
