Free agent quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is on the market after getting released by the Buffalo Bills, but according to ESPN.com, he shouldn't remain free very long, as the Seattle Seahawks are preparing to sign him again after parting ways previously.
According to ESPN.com, Jackson, who was previously a captain with the team, will sign a contract and he may be the favorite to take over the backup position for quarterback Russell Wilson over the newly signed Brady Quinn. Matt Flynn was with the team last season, but now that he is with the Raiders it opens the door for Jackson again.
Jackson was previously traded to the team for a draft pick and he showed during his time with the Vikings and the Seahawks that he is a capable NFL quarterback in the league. The Bills now have Kevin Kolb and EJ Manuel and it is likely that Jackson will be brought in for the Seahawks. The Seahawks are ready for a big jump and the additions of Avril and Harvin will only make the team better. The offense has one of the best running backs in the league and with Wilson getting another year under his belt the team should have a successful 2013 and a bright future ahead. Wilson showed that he is ready to be an NFL starter and the way the team played down the stretch was fantastic and they are expected to be even better with Harvin in the fold.
