NBA Finals Results: Heat Win Game 4, 109-93, Against the Spurs as Dwyane Wade Dominates

The Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 109-93 in Game 4 of the 2013 NBA Finals after a great performance from their two stars, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. With the way Wade single-handedly played in the second half, it was almost unfair for the Spurs.

Wade scored 18 points in the second half on 8-11 shooting from the floor. No James in the beginning of the quarter, no problem. Wade was grabbing rebounds, getting steals and hitting his shots. James came into the game and all he had to do was carry the tempo and lead the offense. Wade finished with 32 points, six rebounds, four assists, six steals and a blocked shot. James added 33 points with 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.

Tony Parker went scoreless in the second half as the Heat picked up the tempo on defense forcing turnovers and double-teaming Spurs' players in pivotal moments. The Spurs finished the game with 19 turnovers while the Heat controlled their possessions and only had eight turnovers.

The first half was pretty exciting as both teams exchanged blows. First it was the Spurs taking a 15-5 lead within the first five minutes of Game 4. The Heat couldn't get any kind of offensive flow. However, after taking a timeout, the Heat pushed the tempo and became active on defense. Miami forced six turnovers as they finished the half on a 24-11 run, taking a three-point lead into the second quarter.

In the second period, the Heat were dominating. Wade was keeping Miami ahead and the Spurs couldn't find an answer. Wade had only four points in the period, but he picked up three assists, an offensive rebound, a steal and a block.

Though the momentum had flipped over to the Heat's side, the Spurs maintained their spirits and continued to make their plays. Miami took a 10-point lead, but San Antonio patiently chipped away. The Heat missed shots and the Spurs caught fire. They closed out the half on an 11-2 run as Parker took over the ball game and brought his team right back to tie send the game tied at 49 at the half. Parker finished the game with 15 points.

The back and forth style of basketball continued throughout the second half. Wade and James continued to attack the hoop and Spurs coach, Gregg Popovich, was clearly aware of the hustle in the Heat's game on both ends of the floor. The Spurs received great support from three as Danny Green and Gary Neal went 6-9 from beyond the arc.

However, the Spurs' mistakes were too costly and the Heat took complete advantage. Now the series is tied 2-2 with Game 5 on Sunday in San Antonio and the Heat now guaranteed the series goes to Miami for Game 6.
