NHL Playoffs Scores and Standings: Chicago Blackhawks Win Over Boston Bruins For 2-2 Stanley Cup Finals Series With 6-5 Victory, Brent Seabrook Scores Winning Goal

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins have played an intense and highly physical series in the Stanley Cup playoffs and after two of the games went into overtime and after a high scoring Game 4 that ended 5-5 in regulation, another one did and this time it was the Blackhawks that were able to win after a goal from Brent Seabrook.

The Blackhawks needed this game more than the Bruins and the team finally got some production out of Jonathan Toews, who scored his first goal of the series after being shutout by Tuukka Rask the first three games. The Blackhawks also got goals from Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp as well as Michal Handzus and Marcus Kruger.

The scoring was intense throughout the series and each team scored one goal in the first period before combining for five in the explosive second period. The Blackhawks scored three in the second and the Bruins added two in the third to tie the game after the Blackhawks scored another goal and it went to overtime at 5-5. The overtime period had multiple chances for both teams, but it was Brent Seabrook again for Chicago as they pulled even in the series 2-2 and regained home ice advantage.

Seabrook has been playing aggressive and getting involved in the offense and he pulled a similar move in this game that he did in Game 7 against the Detroit Red Wings, as he clinched the series in overtime with a winning goal for Chicago. The Bruins played well throughout the game and Tuukka Rask still made 41 saves despite letting up five goals. Rask came into the series as the best goalie in the playoffs by save percentage and he totally dominated the Penguins before shutting out the Blackhawks in the previous game.

Corey Crawford had a solid game for the Blackhawks while making 28 saves and he came up big in the overtime period when the Bruins had scoring chances. The Bruins got scoring from four different players and Patrice Bergeron scored two more goals for his eighth and ninth scores of the postseason, while Milan Lucic and Johnny Boychuk also scored goals. The Bruins now will have to comeback after the loss and at 2-2 the series has been even and the Blackhawks now regained the home ice advantage.
