Jeremy Lin Twitter: Knicks PG Tweets Picture Recovering After Knee Surgery

New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin has posted a picture on Twitter of himself recovering in his hospital bed following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. And, according to the picture and the Knicks themselves, Lin's surgery was successful.

"Praise God for a successful surgery...road to recovery!" Lin tweeted along with the photo. "Lets goo. Much love to the fans for your support and kind words."

He followed with another tweet: "Thanks to Dr. Answorth Allen, Dr. Lisa Callahan and all the nurses for a great surgery!"

The procedure was performed by Allen, Knicks orthopedist, at the Hospital for Special Surgery, according to CBS New York.

Lin is expected to be out for about six weeks with the injury, which means he could miss some playoff time. However, Lin stayed positive when he answered a question about returning for the postseason on his Facebook page, writing: "i hope ill be back for the playoffs! its killin me to watch the team without being able to play but i need to make sure my knee is 100% before i get back on the court so we will wait and see."

Forward Amar'e Stoudemire is already out indefinitely with a bulging disk in his back, and with he and Lin sidelined, the Knicks may have to fight harder to hold on to their playoff lives with just a month left in the regular season. Currently, the Knicks two games ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Carmelo Anthony will perhaps have to provide more offensive star power than before without Stoudemire, while Baron Davis, Mike Bibby and Toney Douglas, the remaining point guards behind Lin, will have to run the offense as flawlessly as they can from now until the end of April.
