Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt will sign a one-day contract and retire as a member of the Rams, the team with which he spent his first 10 NFL seasons. The Rams will hold a news conference with Holt at Rams Park on Wednesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. to discuss the retirement, according to reports.
"Torry's career achievements define him as one of the franchise's most exciting players, and it's only appropriate that he complete his remarkable career in a Rams uniform," said Rams Executive Vice President of Football Operations and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff. "As a key figure in one of the greatest offenses in NFL history, Torry spent an entire decade thrilling St. Louis fans with his clutch catches. We're proud to celebrate this special day with Torry and to welcome him back home."
Holt ranks 10th in NFL history in receiving yards (13,382), 13th in receptions (920) and 28th in touchdowns (74). During his time with St. Louis from 1999 to 2008, Holt caught 869 passes for 12,660 yards and 74 touchdowns, all those marks ranking second in team history, trailing only Holt's former teammate Isaac Bruce's.
