New York Giants Rumors: Wide Receiver Brandon Collins Suspended Four Games As Team Prepares For Victor Cruz Training Camp Holdout

The New York Giants are heading into a summer of uncertainty with the wideout position as Victor Cruz may hold out and now another player will be down, as undrafted free agent Brandon Collins has been suspended four games by the NFL.

According to Pro Football Talk, Collins was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the substance abuse policy and now he will be gone for the first part of the season. He played in zero games last season and the team announced the penalty on Monday. The Giants have dealt with this over the past few years, including with Tyler Sash last season.

Collins' suspension means he violated it once before and now he is one penalty away from a year-long ban. The report says that Collins was dismissed from the team at Texas for aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity and now he has gotten into more trouble in the NFL. Back then he told police that he had arranged a meeting with the alleged victim to buy marijuana and in 2009 season he missed the year due to grades.

The Giants likely weren't going to use Collins much, but it was something else on the roster to have without Cruz coming into camp. The team is hoping he doesn't hold out, but it looks likely.
