Aaron Hernandez is currently being held without bail after being arrested on Wednesday and now his lawyers will argue on an appeal in a hearing at Fall River Superior Court about whether he should be released or not.
According to Pro Football Talk, the hearing will go down at 2 PM and his lawyers will have to show that he is not a flight risk. Hernandez was expecting to be released on bail after getting arrested, but the judge decided to keep him locked up instead. Hernandez was charged with first degree murder for the death of Odin Lloyd and the state laid out its case in detail, saying that the tight end orchestrated the murder.
The state said they have evidence of Hernandez and Lloyd being in contact hours before the murder and that Hernandez had a gun and said he can't trust people anymore soon before he was killed. Lloyd was found with multiple gunshot wounds and the state said that five shell casings were found that can be traced back to Hernandez. As a high profile celebrity, it will be hard for Hernandez to flee and that is likely why the lawyers will try to argue.
If anyone remembers, Rae Carruth tried to hide in the trunk of a car after being charged with his crimes, but this case is slightly different. Hernandez is in Bristol County Jail now and he could face a life sentence with no parole if he is convicted at trial. Hernandez was one of the top players for the Patriots before being released and he made nearly 200 catches for 2,000 yards over his three seasons with the team.
