EPL Transfer News: Blackpool Accept Offer From Cardiff for Thomas Ince

Blackpool have accepted a bid from Cardiff City for forward Thomas Ince, the club's manager Paul Ince confirmed.

Paul, the father of Thomas, wants to keep his son at Blackpool come next season, but might have to do without his serviced after Blackpool gave the go ahead to newly-promoted English Premier League club Cardiff to talk to the player after accepting an offer believed to be around £8 million ($12 million).

Paul Ince, though, is still hopeful his son Thomas will choose to remain with Blackpool in the Championship.

"Cardiff have come in massively for Thomas and the chairman has accepted their offer," Ince senior confirmed from the club's preseason base in Portugal. "I'm not sure what the offer is as I've been away.

"It's a case of when he comes back, we'll sit down and see what we want to do.

"He loves it here and has told me he's in no rush to leave the club.

"I think it's 50/50 at the moment. It's a tricky one for me -- ideally you want your son to be playing in the Premier League, but you also want him to be playing for you.

"I wouldn't put my hat on it that he'll be playing in the Premier League this year.

Liverpool still have a shot to make a move for Thomas Ince, with the Reds having a 48-hour window to express an official interest as part of the deal which sent the player to Blackpool in 2011.

However, with Brendan Rodgers having already considerably strengthened his forward line this summer with the signings of Luis Alberto from Sevilla and Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo, it looks unlikely that Liverpool will show an interest.

The Reds were keen to bring in the England under-21 international last season, but failed to agree a deal with Blackpool and it does seem like Rodgers and co. have moved on.
