In perhaps the most closely matched clash of the four men's singles quarterfinal matches of Wimbledon 2013 - David Ferrer and Juan Martin Del Potro will have that semifinal in mind when the two lock horns Wednesday.
It is a clash, first up on Centre Court, of two contrasting styles really - Del Potro the aggressive player with a wicked forehand, against Ferrer the man with a rock-solid defense and someone who will run down every single ball.
On grass, Del Potro should have a slight edge, because he has the bigger weapons; but underestimate Ferrer at your own peril.
"David is doing a fantastic season at the moment," Del Potro said. "He's I think No. 3 in the world after this tournament. He deserves to be there, for sure.
"He is a good player on grass. When you check the papers or you see Rafa (Nadal) and the rest of the Spanish guys, you say they are better on clay. But David, he is a very good player on all surface.
"He made quarters last year here. He beat me. Now we have the chance to go to the semis for the first time. But I think it's going to be a really, really tough match for me. I hope the knee, it's better after tomorrow, then I will have to play my best tennis."
Del Potro is indeed struggling with a knee injury, and if there is anyone that can take advantage of the slightest of opening it is Ferrer.
"The ankle is good and the knee is not good," Del Potro added. "But I'm allowed to play. Still bother me in the left outside of the knee. I couldn't do the MRI. That's what I need for a specific result of the knee.
"But the doctor says nothing too dangerous, and that's positive.
"It's bother me a lot. I couldn't extend 100 percent the knee. And the tapes for today (in the fourth round win over Andreas Seppi on Monday) help me to be careful in some movements. But is not enough."
Ferrer has looked really good on grass this year, playing more aggressive than normal and even volleying a few times quite well. The Spaniard, a French Open finalist this year, will need to be at his best to beat Del Potro, but it will hardly be a surprise if he does.
"Del Potro, he's a very great player," Ferrer said. "It's going to be difficult, sure. I need to play my best tennis for to win Del Potro.
"And in grass court I think is more difficult. He play better than me in grass court. Last year I won against him. But I think I play my best match in grass court."
