Sabine Lisicki will look to continue her tremendous run of form at Wimbledon when she takes on Agnieszka Radwanska in the women's singles semifinals Thursday.
Having knocked out the seemingly unstoppable Serena Williams in the fourth round Monday, Lisicki was in her elements again, posting a comfortable straight set victory over Kaia Kanepi in the quarterfinals a day later.
"There was for me no pressure at all," Lisicki said after her win over the Estonian Kanepi. "I went out there to enjoy my game and win the match. That's all I was focused about, that single match, each and every single point there.
"And, yeah, that's what I did. Especially after the win (over Serena), I was ready today (Tuesday). I knew from the past out of experience that I needed to make the switch quickly to be ready, and that's what I did. So I'm very pleased."
Lisicki has been in the semifinals of Wimbledon before, two years ago, but the big-serving German admitted she feels more prepared this time around than she did in 2011, when she lost to Maria Sharapova.
"I know how it is to be in the semis," she said. "I know the different atmosphere. You know, everything is starting to get empty in the locker room. It is, you know, a completely different feeling.
"But I'm glad that I had that experience before. I feel much fresher, fitter, better than two years ago. I think this time I'm more ready.
"I just feel like I'm hitting the ball well. I think I'm moving well. I feel good. And, having had the experience in the past, all that together helps me a lot."
Radwanska, seeded fourth, and No. 23 seed Lisicki will meet on grass for the first time and the former, a finalist at SW19 last year, is predicting a tough battle.
"I saw her matches, and her results on the grass always good," Radwanska, who is carrying an injury but is confident of overcoming the problem before the semifinal, said. "So, I think we didn't play for couple years now. And I think we didn't play on grass yet.
"So I think, it will be good challenge. We know each other since the junior tournaments, so it is always a good challenge to play someone like Sabine -- especially this is a semifinal of a Grand Slam.
"Well, we are going to fight, for sure."
