Liverpool Transfer Latest: Molby Believes Suarez Should Be Sold in the Summer, Expects Reina to Leave Anfield

Liverpool great Jan Molby believes the club might have to sell Luis Suarez in the summer if he is indeed unhappy with life in the English Premier League.

Suarez expressed his desire to leave England a number of times after the end of the season, leading to suggestions he could be headed to Real Madrid, a club which the forward himself said he would be open to joining.

Liverpool have categorically said Suarez is not for sale, with the Uruguayan tied down to a long-term contract.

However, Molby believes if Suarez is unhappy, it is best to let him go for both the player's and the club's sake.

"The last thing you want is an unhappy player and Liverpool know that," Molby told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"They've been busy in the market (Liverpool have already made four signings this summer) and it appears they're almost readying themselves for life without Suarez.

"I think he's made it pretty clear that he would like to try something new, including playing at a club that's in the Champions League.

"If that's how he feels, the club has to do the business."

Another player that Molby believes won't be at Anfield come the start of the new season is Pepe Reina.

Brendan Rodgers has already brought in Simon Mignolet from Sunderland and Molby cannot envisage the two goalkeepers fighting it out for a place in the starting lineup.

"I'd be surprised if both of them were here on September 1," he added.

"Could you imagine Mignolet wanting to come to Liverpool and not play?

"He has his own ambitions and one of them is to be part of a very exciting Belgian national team.

"In the first three or four years Pepe (Reina) was here he was as good as the club's ever had and as good as there was anywhere in the world.

"He hasn't quite been the same in the last couple of years but I think he's a great goalkeeper.

"Possibly the time has come for him to move on and if there's an opportunity for him back in Spain, so be it."

Reina has been tipped to take over at Barcelona with Victor Valdes deciding against signing a new contract.

However, with Valdes saying he will see out the final year of his deal a move to the Camp Nou for Reina this summer has been put in doubt.
