MLB Best Selling Jerseys 2013: Which Players Made the Top 5? Best-Seller Not from NY

MLB's Top 5 most popular jerseys are in. Though three New York players round out at the top of the charts, neither a Met nor a Yankee made the No. 1 spot. Here are MLB's top selling jerseys before the 2013 All-Star break.

No. 5- Matt Harvey
Though the Mets are having a losing season, #33 is drawing the fifth highest sales in baseball. It could be the 7-2 record with a 2.35 ERA that has attracted fans to supporting the Mets' pitcher, but it's a good sign for Mets' baseball. Fans are reaching out though the team is in fourth place in the N.L. East with no chance of competing in 2013.

No. 4- David Wright
The Mets' #5 jersey is also attracting fans. Maybe the World Baseball Classic had something to do with it. Maybe it was his brand new eight-year deal that guaranteed fans they'd at least have a quality position player left in the organization. In 2013, Wright is currently the 2013 Home Run Derby captain and will start at third base in his home field as Citi Field will host this year's All-Star Game. Captain American is one of the top third basemen in the league as he's hitting .308 with 13 home runs, 43 RBI and 14 stolen bases.

No. 3- Yadier Molina
Arguably the best catcher in the game, the St. Louis Cardinals' #4  jersey comes in third place. Molina leads the N.L. with a .343 batting average. He's not much of a power-hitter, but he's gone from solely a defense catcher, to an all-around great player. He's only committed three errors in 2013 while catching 45 percent of base runners (13-29).

No. 2- Mariano Rivera
It's only right that the best closer in history goes out with a bang. Everybody wants to have the last #42 jersey worn by an active player. Rivera is set to retire at the end of the season and though 43 years old, he's still effective. So far in 2013, Rivera has 29 saves along with a 1-2 record and a 1.89 ERA.

No.1- Buster Posey
Call him the face of baseball. He's only played three full seasons of baseball (would have been four had he not been injured in 2011) and he was the 2012 MVP and batting champion, won two World Series, was the 2011 Rookie of the Year and has made two All-Star Game appearances. That is a packed resume only guys like Derek Jeter can relate too. The San Francisco Giants' catcher, Posey, is only 26 years old and #28 is the most popular jersey in baseball.
