Dallas Mavericks Part Ways With Lamar Odom

Lamar Odom's season is over following a mutual decision by the Dallas Mavericks to shut down Odom for the rest of the season. The former Los Angeles Laker's star has struggled since being traded to the defending champion Mavericks.

The Mavericks will put Odom on the inactive list for the remainder of the season, allowing him to be traded before the NBA draft this summer. Odom is ineligible for the playoffs with another team since he was not waived before the March 23 deadline.

"I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship," Odom told ESPN.

Odom's numbers with the Mavericks were about half his career averages at 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per game.
