The Los Angeles Lakers are working on their plan B after Dwight Howard left for the Houston Rockets and after bringing in Chris Kaman they have signed another player in guard Nick Young from the 76ers.

Young comes over after spending the season in Philadelphia and ESPN.com confirmed the deal with his agent and said that Young has always dreamed of playing for the Lakers. Young adds a solid presence on the roster for the Lakers and his athleticism should work well with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol as the team tries to rebound from the Dwight Howard disaster.

Young averaged 10.6 points and 23.9 minutes a game last season with Philadelphia and the guard signed to the veteran's minimum with the team. Young had some accuracy issues from the floor, but playing alongside Bryant when he returns from his Achilles injury should help him get some open shots. Young will likely backup Kobe, but he should get chances on the floor with him as well.

"It's great for Nick and great for the Lakers," Young's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told the Los Angeles Times. "He could've waited and got more money in the free-agent market but his dream has always been to play for the Lakers."
