Aaron Hernandez Murder Rumors: Maurkice and Mike Pouncey Wearing 'Free Hernandez' Hats In Pictures As Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins Talk To Gators Teammates (Photo)

The Aaron Hernandez murder case has been the biggest story for the NFL this offseason and while the Patriots and the league have tried to distance themselves from the arrested star, the topic keeps popping up, as it did over the weekend when brothers Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey were seen wearing "Free Hernandez" hats.

Pictures surfaced of the two brothers, who went to Florida and played for the Gators with Hernandez, over the weekend in a club wearing "Free Hernandez" hats and the photos appear to be real. The report says that the twin brothers were with Hernandez during a shooting incident that he was later questioned for and it left two men wounded. Past issues about Hernandez have come into focus after the murder charges, including his time at Florida, which had the shooting incident as well as a bar fight and failed drug tests.

The 23-year-old star is accused of shooting semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd to death on June 17 and he is being held on charges of first degree murder and could face life in prison. Hernandez has been denied bail and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The report says that the Steelers will talk to Pouncey after the incident and they have not commented publicly on the matter. It says that the Dolphins are planning a similar course of action for their Pouncey brother, who is the starting center for the team.

The pictures were likely taken at the Pouncey brothers' birthday party over the weekend and the latest news on Hernandez is that one of the men accused of being with him that night, Carlos Ortiz, has said that he was told that the tight end committed the murder. Ortiz was arrested soon after Hernandez and reports say that he has been cooperating with police and said that another accomplice, Ernest Wallace, told him that Hernandez admitted to the shooting. His next court appearance will be in a week and there is a chance that his lawyers could ask the judge for bail a third time.
