Miami Marlins Trade Rumors: Giancarlo Stanton For Jurickson Profar An Option For Texas Rangers As Jose Fernandez Gets Innings Limit

The Miami Marlins don't have much to play for this year, but one thing they do have is some young talent in Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Fernandez and chances are after the trading deadline, only one of those stars will remain with the team.

Stanton has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors this summer and last year when the team pulled off deals with the Dodgers and Blue Jays and while so far no deal has been made, that could change soon. The Texas Rangers need outfield help and although they are rumored in trades for Matt Garza and Alfonso Soriano, they also could look at Giancarlo Stanton and one player that could sway the Marlins in young prospect Jurickson Profar.

Profar has shown that he is one of the best prospects in the game, but with players like Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre ahead of him, it might be too much of a good thing for the Rangers. While the deal likely wouldn't be straight up, he is one player that the Marlins may be willing to take for Stanton. While he is only hitting .235 with three home runs and 11 RBIs, he has shown great potential and is one of the top prospects in the game.

The Marlins have set an innings limit for Hernandez this season since he is just 20 years old and after making the All-Star team, Miami wants to be smart. According to Hardball Talk, the limit for Hernandez is likely around 170 innings, similar to other young pitchers and what teams have done. The Miami Herald said that the number started between 150 and 170 and that the team said he is on pace for about 185 at this point after going 105 innings in the first half.

The team said they would be willing to stretch the number, but that it would rest in that wheelhouse and last season he threw 134 minor league innings. The Marlins want to limit the stress on his arm and after going 5-5 with a 2.75 ERA and 103/40 K/BB ratio, the team wants to be careful.
