Southampton playmaker Gaston Ramirez's agent admitted his client would consider a move back to Italy amid reports of interest from Inter Milan.
Ramirez joined the Saints last summer in a big-money move from Bologna, but reports continue to link him with a switch back to Serie A.
The Uruguay international's agent Pablo Betancourt said if an offer were to be put on the table, then his client would evaluate the situation, but warned Inter would have to pay a hefty sum for the player's services.
"I have not personally had any contact with Inter, but there could well have been discussions between the clubs," Betancourt told Ilsussidiario.net.
"Should it be possible? I'm convinced that everything can be done if there is the money to do it.
"For Ramirez the English side made a big sacrifice, so if Inter like him they will have to pay a big sum.
"Italy is in Ramirez's heart, but I don't like talking about things that are not concrete.
"Should there be an offer, then we will evaluate."
Betancourt also revealed Inter were interested in signing the 22-year-old last summer, but failed to push through a deal, allowing Southampton to come in and complete the move.
"Inter looked for the player before he signed for Southampton, but the affair failed," he added.
Meanwhile, Southampton forward Guilherme Do Prado is hoping the hat-trick scored against Palamos in an 8-0 preseason friendly win this weekend will lead to a turnaround of fortunes for him at the club.
"It was a good game for everyone," he told Saints Player. "I enjoyed (my goals) very much because I haven't scored for a year, even in preseason last year.
"That's a long time so I enjoyed this hat trick. I'm very happy. I'd like to say thank you to the players for helping last year and this year," he continued.
"I'm looking forward to being better this year, because last year I made some mistakes so I apologise to everyone.
"This year is going to be very important for me and for the club. I'm looking forward to the season very much.
"I want to show everyone what I can do for the team and for Southampton Football Club so I am working hard. It's going to be a very interesting year for us."
