Milwaukee Bucks Rumors: Brandon Jennings Trade To Pistons Changes East Landscape As Gary Neal Signs, Detroit Has Playoff Hope With Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond

The Pistons have been one of the most active teams in the NBA this offseason and after signing Josh Smith the team pulled off one of the biggest and most rumored trades of the offseason by getting Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Bucks will complete a sign and trade deal with the Pistons for Jennings on a three-year, $24 million deal and possible players that are moving may include Brandon Knight, Rodney Stuckey or Charlie Villanueva among other players or money that could be involved in the deal.

The Detroit Pistons made one of the biggest surprise moves of the offseason after swaying Hawks free agent Josh Smith to sign with the team and after adding former point guard Chauncey Billups, the team has signed its draft picks in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Tony Mitchell.

According to ESPN.com, the Pistons signed the number eight pick Kentavious Caldwell-Pope after selecting him out of Georgia and Mitchell, who was selected in the second round out of North Texas. The team has high hopes for Pope after taking him out of Georgia as a sophomore and he is coming off a fantastic final season in college, in which he averaged 18.5 points per game and won the SEC player of the year. Mitchell was taken in the second round after averaging 13 points and over eight rebounds per game as a sophomore as well. Peyton Siva is still unsigned and the Pistons are working to get that deal done next. The team also lost Jason Maxiell to the Orlando Magic after he spent the past eight seasons with the team, averaging just under seven points with 5.7 rebounds per game.

Smith was the top player for the Hawks last season and he averaged 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in his final year with the team. Smith was the prize of the offseason for Dumars and while teams have called about the possibility of a trade involving Andre Drummond, the general manager has said that he is untouchable, while Greg Monroe possibly isn't, but he is also a major part of the future core of the team. The Pistons were also mentioned in rumors about Rajon Rondo and Brandon Jennings, but neither of those deals ever materialized into any serious talks.

The Milwaukee Bucks and point guard Brandon Jennings have not yet been able to come to an agreement on a contract extension and while a trade is looking unlikely, reports say that the star may consider signing a qualifying offer with the team.

According to ESPN.com, Jennings is considering the qualifying offer after not being able to get an extension at over $10 million per year and while the team wants to sign him long-term, they don't want to overpay Jennings. At 23-years-old Jennings is clearly one of the top young point guards in the league and the deal would come in at under $5 million for this season and that would make him an unrestricted free agent after next season, something he could use to cash in as well.

Jennings has been solid with the Bucks, averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game last season while setting some career highs and he put up great numbers from long range with just under 40 percent, another career best. He shot over 80 percent from the line and shot just under 40 percent from the field, something he still needs to work on. Jennings has been rumored in trades to the Pistons and other teams and while that appears unlikely, it still could happen as Joe Dumars wants to get rid of Charlie Villanueva and Rodney Stuckey's contracts.
