Chicago Bulls Rumors: Antawn Jamison Top Free Agent Target As LA Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Bobcats Interested

The NBA offseason is heading into August and with some low-level names left on the free agent market, Antawn Jamison is a well-known veteran that is still getting interest after playing with the Lakers last season, including from the Chicago Bulls, LA Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Bobcats.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Bulls could go after the former Lakers star as well as a few other teams and while Jamison dealt with a wrist injury last season, he is ready to prepare and be ready for next season and take his time before signing. Jamison said last season he jumped into it quickly with the Lakers and now the 37-year-old is taking his time and he has received significant interest from the Bulls, Clipps, Grizzlies and Bobcats on the free agent market.

Jamison signed a one-year contract for the minimum last season and while he was pretty bad on defense, he was solid enough when he played and averaged nearly 10 points and five rebounds per game for the Lakers and now he could be a veteran presence on the bench of a contender. The Lakers might have tried to sign him, but after adding Nick Young, Wes Johnson and Robert Sacre they felt they didn't need him anymore and now he is free to move on elsewhere. The Lakers had a tough year last season with the Dwight Howard drama and high expectations and now Jamison is ready for a new challenge.

Jamison didn't get much playing time under Mike D'Antoni and averaged only 9.4 points this season after having career averages of 18.8 points and 7.6 rebounds. Jamison said he enjoyed playing for the Lakers last season and now he would like to try and make a playoff run with a team this year. Jamison said he hopes for a stable situation and the Bulls or Clippers are likely the best fits for the vet.
