Real Madrid Transfer Rumors: Gareth Bale Should Stay With Tottenham Says Roberto Soldado As Spurs Deal Finalized, Targets Champions League Return

Tottenham is in the thick of it when it comes to summer transfers and just as Roberto Soldado is working on finalizing his move from Valencia to the Spurs, the star has made a point to try and get Gareth Bale to stay instead of leaving for Real Madrid.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham is finishing up the deal and Soldado will be in London to take medical exams on Friday, coming after the deal was confirmed and the agreement was made to get the 28-year-old star. Soldado will meet up with the team in preseason in Monaco and he said that the team gave the best offer he received at £26 million move to White Hart Lane and now he is excited for the challenge.

Soldado said that he is thrilled to be joining Andre Villas-Boas's roster and that he spoke to him and is excited about what the team can do in trying to get to the Champions League. He added that the Premier League is one that has always intrigued him and that he is excited to face top European competition. Soldado said it was always about that more than money and now the star said that he will try and get Bale to stay despite persistent rumors that he will move to Real Madrid on a record deal.

Soldado said that he wants Bale to stay since he is so talented and Tottenham finally can say they have the top quality player they have been looking for. The team likely will allow Emmanuel Adebayor to move to Besiktas after getting a replacement and now all the attention turns to Bale and what he will decide to do. Bale has been rumored in the move for weeks and Saoldado hopes he ends up staying.

"I spoke to Andre Villas-Boas and he convinced me to move for the new project. He is building a new and exciting project and reaching the Champions League will be an obligation," he said "The Premier League has always interested me. I watched the matches on TV and played against English clubs in European competition. This is a sensational challenge for me. I promise the fans hard work and I hope they will give me their full support in return."
