NBA Rumors and News: Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, Deron Williams Best Point Guards Heading Into 2013 Season

The NBA trade market blew up big time when Brandon Jennings was traded from the Bucks to the Pistons for point guard Brandon Knight and now that the two players have switched places, here is a look at where some of the top point guards in the league stand heading into the 2013-14 NBA season.

Rajon Rondo is obviously in the conversation after the way he has played over the past few seasons and despite the Celtics trading Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, he still is an elite point guard. Rondo is coming off a tough injury and is facing a bad season in Boston, but he is an elite defender and playmaker and if anyone can turn the team around it's him. Some players that are borderline here are Damian Lillard and Mike Conley, who showed last season with the Grizzlies that he is on the cusp of being one of the best in the league.

Jrue Holiday is coming off one of his best seasons and now that he is traded to the Pelicans, he brings averages of 17.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.6 steals and automatically gives the team its best point guard since Chris Paul. Tyreke Evans is also on the team after being traded and the two stars likely will alternate on running the point and the new roster should be a way for Holiday to shine this year. The 23-year-old is a budding star and the Sixers decided to trade him for Nerlens Noel.

John Wall just signed a huge deal and he averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.6 assists last season to give Wizards fans some future hope as he develops into a superstar. Deron Williams is one of the best in the league after averaging 22.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks per game after the All-Star break and adding the two major stars should only make him better.

Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving and Derrick Rose along with Russell Westbrook are all in the top part of the list and after averaging 23.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.8 steals last season, Westbrook is on his way to some all-time stats.
