The Los Angeles Lakers had no problem letting Chris Duhon walk this offseason after signing Nick Young and Wesley Johnson and now it looks as if he is getting some interest on the market, as the New York Knicks and Sixers are looking at possibly signing the former Duke star.
According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Knicks and the 76ers are interested in looking at Duhon, while New York also is working out Lester Hudson, who played in China last season. The report came from Yahoo Sports and said that the Knicks are also looking at Jannero Pargo and Beno Udrih, but right now nothing is imminent which is why they are thinking about Duhon. The 76ers also like Duhon after trading away Jrue Holiday and the team could sign him if the Knicks pass.
Last season Duhon played on the Lakers in a reserve role behind Steve Blake and Steve Nash and he averaged 2.9 points on 38.2 percent shooting and had 2.9 assists per game and could be a solid bench contributor for both the Knicks and Sixers. The Knicks are hoping to convince Udrih to sign, but reports say he is looking for more money than the team is willing to give.
The Knicks need all the reserve help they can get as the team gets older and with players like Kenyon Martin, Tyson Chandler, Amare and others breaking down by the end of the season, any fresh legs will do for the team on the bench this year.
