Aaron Hernandez Cousin Tanya Cummings-Singleton Jailed For Contempt For Grand Jury, TE Fiance Shayanna Jenkins Shows Support As Relative Tried Ernest Wallace Get Away

The Aaron Hernandez murder case and related investigation has taken another interesting turn, as the cousin of the former New England Patriots tight end Tanya Cummings-Singleton was jailed for contempt of court after refusing to testify to a grand jury for the murder case of Odin Lloyd.

According to USA Today, Hernandez's cousin, who previously had her phone confiscated by police as evidence, was jailed for not testifying after she was subpoenaed to appear and did not. She is being held at the South Bay House of Correction in Suffolk County since Aug. 1, the Hartford Courant reported Thursday. Cummings-Singleton could remain in jail for some time and now it appears that she has a deep connection to accomplice Ernest Wallace, who is also being held in the case in relation to the murder.

Reports said that Cummings-Singleton lived in the same house as Wallace and that she also used a credit card with a former name to get Wallace a getaway ticket on a bus after Lloyd was killed. The 27-year-old was found shot to death near Hernandez's mansion home and now Wallace and another accomplice Carlos Ortiz are also being held in custody. Wallace has already pleaded not guilty to being an accessory after the fact and he was caught after turning himself in after police put out a search for him.

Police are still looking for evidence related to the case, including the cell phone Wallace used that night and police also took Singleton's credit cards and cell phone and are still searching for the murder weapon. Hernandez has been painted as the orchestrator of the murder and he is being tied to it by shell casings, surveillance video and clothing from that night and now his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins must also deal with the fallout, as her sister was dating Lloyd. Hernandez is also dealing with a possible connection to a double murder in Boston from last year.

The grand jury is operating in secret right now and they are preparing to get more information from many different parties in relation to the case, including speaking to Alexander Bradley, who claims Hernandez shot him. Police have also talked to another man who helped the authorities find and apartment Hernandez rented for Wallace and now Hernandez is in jail facing life in prison. The body was found less than a mile from his home and according to court documents, he was agitated with police when they started asking questions about it and he was released by the Patriots soon after being arrested.
