The Eagles are featuring a new head coach, Chip Kelly, with the same old acts on the field. Their team remains talented and it's not just hype surrounding this team. They have quarterback depth as Nick Foles proved last season he could play with the big boys. After Michael Vick went down, something we've grown accustomed to witnessing yearly, Foles stepped up completing 61 percent of his passes, going for 1,699 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions in seven games played in 2012. In case Foles can't go, the Eagles hope that their third string-to-be, Matt Barkley out of USC, can fill in if needed.
DeSean Jackson is still the No. 1 wide out for the Eagles, while LeSean McCoy mans the back field. There is talent up and down this roster on offense. However, the one thing the Eagles need is protection. They hope to have addressed this issue with the No. 1 pick, fourth overall, Lane Johnson out of Oklahoma. Combined, Vick and Foles were sacked a total of 28 times and lost eight fumbles. It's obvious; it's hard to throw the ball if you can't keep it in your possession.
The Eagles will try to improve on a 2012 season that saw them finish in last place with a 4-12 record. With the amount of talent on this roster, there is no reason why the Eagles should finish in last place once again this season. It all starts tonight against the Patriots. Don't miss the action.
