Johnny Manziel Deadspin Story: Texas A&M Quarterback Family Profiled In Article About Oil Money, Cockfighting Matches, America, Fortune and Scandal

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has been under the microscope all year after winning the Heisman Trophy as a freshman last season and after news came out about him possibly getting money in exchange for his autograph, new reports have surfaced about other sessions where he may have done the same.

According to ESPN.com, Manziel may have participated in multiple autograph sessions and signings involving memorabilia, which comes after reports last week that he signed thousands of items in exchange for money. The Manziel family hired an attorney last week and this week they are featured in a column over on Deadspin.com about the interesting history of the family and the relatives of Manziel, who were involved in oil and other industries in Texas.

Manziel could be in some hot water for the upcoming season if the NCAA finds out that he violated any rules and that could mean he is ineligible for the third game of the year against Alabama. Manziel is coming into the season after being the first freshman player to win the Heisman and putting up some fantastic numbers, passing for 3,706 yards and 26 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,410 yards and 21 more touchdowns. The school will try to protect Manziel and ESPN reports that they hired the same lawyer that worked with Auburn when Cam Newton was going through a similar situation.
