NFL Free Agent Rumors: Bart Scott, Willis McGahee, Brian Waters, Kerry Rhodes, JaMarcus Russell, Jared Gaither Available For Preseason Week 2 Games

The NFL free agent market has thinned out since getting started up hot earlier in the summer with names like Mike Wallace and Dannell Ellerbe signing with teams and now some of the top names left include Bart Scott, Willis McGahee, Brian Waters, Kerry Rhodes, JaMarcus Russell, Jared Gaither and Terrell Owens.

There are plenty of name players left out there that teams can sign, including Brandon Lloyd, Cedric Benson, Brandon Jacobs, Michael Turner, Richard Seymour and Brandon Lloyd and as injuries start to pile up during the preseason, teams could be making more moves. The Dallas Cowboys have been interesting in signing Brian Waters since Brandon Moore decided to retire and the team has some big needs on the line that he could fill.

The Chargers appear to be a team in need of some offensive help, as Danario Alexander was lost for the season with an ACL injury and now Malcom Floyd is dealing with a knee issue. The team said it feels comfortable with Eddie Royal, Robert Meachem and Keenan Allen as well as Vincent Brown, but that may not last and names like Lloyd, Deion Branch and Laurent Robinson could be options. The team has an issue as they are trying to get more weapons for Philip Rivers and they could be in the market for a running back if Ryan Mathews hurts himself again.

Chargers coach Mike McCoy sees Allen as an option to start now, but the team could go after some veteran help. The Packers signed Vince Young in the preseason to a deal and quarterbacks like JaMarcus Russell and Matt Leinart are also still available and they could get signed if more injuries come down this preseason. Teams that need running backs should have some options with McGahee after he was released by the Broncos and Brandon Jacobs and Michael Turner are also available.

Bart Scott is available and NFL.com reports that he will select a team soon. Veterans Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley were just signed and the Ravens could go after Scott as well. Scott said that he is ready to sign and play wherever he can help a team and he is coming back after dealing with surgery to hit foot. The Ravens and some other teams could be an option.
