Peter King The MMQB 3Q Interview: Jaguars Denard Robinson Talks Tim Tebow Jaguars Rumors, Offensive Weapon Position, Michigan and NFL Draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars made two of the most interesting draft picks in the entire NFL draft when they selected Ace Sanders and Denard Robinson, as both are speedy players that can line up anywhere on the field and that is evident in the designation of "offensive weapon" for Robinson on the depth chart.

The MMQB sat down with Robinson for the 3Q Interview and Jenny Vrentas asked a number of questions, including about expectations with the Jaguars, the rumors in the offseason as well as adapting to playing in the NFL after being a star at Michigan. Robinson said he wanted to live up to expectations and that he likes his designation as an offensive weapon and he is trying to learn from veterans like Maurice Jones-Drew and Justin Forsett.

Robinson is one of the fastest players to come out of the draft and now he will be ready for training camp when it begins later this summer in July. Robinson is a versatile player and he may line up at many positions for the Jags like he did with the Wolverines in college. He played 37 games at Michigan as a starter, including 35 at QB and he also played running back and wide receiver.

Robinson is listed as an offensive weapon for the team and the reason for the Tim Tebow headline is that many fans were clamoring for the Jags to sign Tebow, as he could play a variety of positions for them, but instead they get a faster and more explosive player without any of the media baggage. During his time in college he set the NCAA record for career rushing yards with nearly 4,500 and he previously was listed as a running back before going under the offensive weapon designation. The Jaguars are hopeful about this draft class and especially with Robinson, as he proved to be an explosive force in college that should translate to the NFL.

Vrentas: "What's the biggest challenge of playing as a running back, and will we ever see you listed as just a QB again?"

Robinson: "As a running back, it's when you're coming up to block, you've got to make sure you man up and do what you've got to do. Lately, I've been trying to do that and get physical. As for quarterback, we'll see. Right now I'm an offensive weapon, and I'm trying to have fun doing that."
