Ichiro Suzuki 4,000 Hits: Yankees Star Has 3,999 Career Heading Into Blue Jays Game 2 After Two Hits On Tuesday

Former Seattle Mariners star and current Yankees outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is on the cusp of doing something historic in baseball history after going 2-5 against the Blue Jays on Tuesday after noon, as he is just one hit away from 4,000 career hits.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Suzuki needs one hit to reach the mark of 4,000 and that would bring him in company with Pete Rose (4,256) and Ty Cobb (4,191), who are the only other players in history with that many hits. Ichiro has his stats split between Japan and the US in Major League Baseball, but combined he is on his way to history and a Hall of Fame plaque.

During his career he has 2719 major league hits and that comes after he had 200 hits in 10 straight seasons, a record streak that came to an end last year. Go go go Ichiro!
