According to Trinidad Express on Aug. 8, the Red Steel are the only winless team so far in this inaugural CPL 2013 tournament. Their most recent loss was a close one, but they still fell by five-runs to the Jamaica Tallawahs team. Red Steel captain Dwayne Bravo took responsibility for the loss, and told the media:

"Lately I have not been bowling well at the death, but I believe in myself and back myself to do well when it comes to the death. I've been doing it for the last eight years I've been playing international cricket (but) it's something I have to rethink."

Bravo also talked about being supported by the public, saying:

"We are one victory away from getting everyone back on our side. Ninety per cent, 80 per cent of the fans will continue to be with us, but the next 20 per cent will be disappointed obviously, they have all right to be.

I am disappointed as the leader that we can't win but we know we have the public supporting us, most of them...Now is the time that they really need to rally around us."

Bravo added with regards to strategy, "We have to keep trying things." Among the things they tried in their Wednesday loss were bringing in Adrian Barath and then pushing Kevin O'Brien up to partner with him. The new combo only posted 5 in that move, but Barath did have 32. The team will continue to try new options in the hopes for a big win, otherwise they'll easily be out of contention in this CPL tournament.

Meanwhile, their opponents tonight, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, currently sit at second in the points table with a record of 2-1 and 4 points. The Jamaica Tallawahs are right behind them, also at 2-1 and 4 points, but are in third place due to their net run rate statistic being lower. Tonight, Guyana will look for win number 3, which will keep them hot on the heels of the hottest team in the CPL so far: the undefeated Barbados Tridents team.

Expected Lineups:

Red Steel: LRPL Taylor, DPMD Jayawardene, FH Edwards, DJ Bravo, SJ Benn, KJ OBrien, DM Bravo, AJ Finch, S Badree, AB Barath, DE Johnson, DJ Jacobs, Kevon Cooper, Yannick Cariah, Miguel Cummins, Justin Guillen, Nicolas Pooran
