Pelicans NBA Free Agent Rumors: Lance Thomas Re-Signs As Arinze Onuaku Agrees to Non-Guaranteed Deal, New Orleans Most Improved Team In Offseason?

The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the most active teams in the NBA this offseason and that has continued into August, as the team is rounding out its roster by bringing back Lance Thomas and signing Arinze Onuaku.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Pelicans decided to bring back Thomas after he played with the team last season and the report says that he signed a two-year deal to return to the team. While he averaged just 11 minutes last season, the Pelicans feel that he is a solid player off the bench after averaging 2.5 points per game and he joins a roster that now includes Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson and now Thomas is back in the fold.

The Pelicans also signed Onuaku to a non-guaranteed deal and that comes after the team previously was interested in signing Greg Oden this offseason. Onuaku played for the Suns in the summer league and the 6'9″ 275-pound forward ended up averaging 6.9 points and 6.4 rebounds in seven appearances and the Pelicans feel he can be a player that sticks onto the roster.

The Pelicans are building for the future and now they have 13 guaranteed contract players for next season.
